Carl DeMaio and Reform California have released their “Plain English” voter guide to give you an easy-to-understand explanation of the ballot measures and grade candidates.
California’s General Election is underway and ballots must be returned by March 5, 2024. With a bunch of confusing ballot measures and hundreds of candidates running for office, voters can feel overwhelmed and lost.
This “Plain English” voter guide makes voting simple – especially when it comes to the ballot measures and local offices that do not allow candidates to disclose their party affiliation. Endorsements below are given only to candidates who “passed the test” on these crucial criteria: opposing taxes, fighting crime, improving schools, addressing homelessness, and defending personal freedoms.
2024 offers a real chance for a wave election to block costly tax hikes and elect common-sense leaders - but to do that we need your help in turning out your friends, family and neighbors to vote and share this easy-to-understand voter guide with them!
Reform California is organizing free events to help make voting simple, fun, and secure while distributing this voter guide to attendees. We can give you pointers on how to host your own event in your area, or attend an existing event near you!

SCA-2 amends the state constitution to strip voters of the right to vote against controversial welfare housing projects being built in their neighborhoods. These welfare housing projects have been shown to contribute to a large increase in neighborhood crime.
Newsom Ballot Measure 1: OPPOSE
Gavin Newsom is proposing to divert money from homeless treatment programs to give rich developers subsidies for housing first boondoggle developments, costing taxpayers more than $1 million per unit. This initiative throws good money after bad and would undercut our ability to address the root cause of homelessness.
Newsom Ballot Measure 2: OPPOSE
On top of raiding treatment funds, Newsom is also hoping to place a second initiative on the ballot filled with BILLIONS in government bonds to would allow the state to borrow and max out the taxpayer credit card. Where would all the money go? To those same rich developers for even more Housing First boondoggle projects.
