“Elections are won by those that show up!” This old but true saying in politics underscores the crucial importance of getting your side to show up and vote in greater numbers than your opponents.
That’s why Carl DeMaio and Reform California have been waging a statewide campaign to encourage Republican and conservative independent voters to VOTE EARLY – and to track their ballot to verify that it was indeed counted.
“If every Republican voter and conservative independent voter shows up in the November 2024 election, we can overcome the Democrats’ voter registration advantage and flip seats,” promises Carl DeMaio, Chairman of Reform California.
DeMaio and Reform California have made more than 1 million voter contacts in the fight as of two weeks before the California November 2024 Primary to boost turnout on their side. Investments include door-to-door canvassing, text messages, digital ads, and countless mailers of the Reform California “Plain English” Voter Guide.
The initial numbers show Reform California’s efforts may be paying off.
In fact, according to data on ballots returned so far from the Secretary of State’s office, the Republican share of “early” voters in California has SPIKED and is running nearly 4% above registration – and Democrat turnout is flat!
Democrat Share of Early Ballot Returns
48.4% (flat from 2022)
Republican Share of Early Ballot Returns
30.9% (up 2.9% from 2022)
Independent Share of Early Ballot Returns
20.7% (down 3.3% from 2022)
Bigger Republican turnout – and a flat Democratic turnout – could lead to unexpected wins for Republicans in key target seat races, DeMaio explains. DeMaio says the data is encouraging.
“What’s even better than the overall statewide numbers is the analysis of our 24 target races shows our turnout is even higher in those areas,” DeMaio ads.
“While these are amazing numbers from our ‘Early’ Ballot Program, we STILL have an uphill battle in California to win our target seats,” DeMaio says.
“I’m worried that Democrats will pour in massive funding to harvest ballots in these last 2 weeks to erase our early gains,” DeMaio warns.
DeMaio says Reform California needs immediate help from supporters to execute a strong turnout push in the remaining week of the November 2024 Election.
“We need every single volunteer to activate and every contributor to donate NOW so we can reach low-propensity voters on our side and drag them to the polls,” DeMaio says.
