Now that Joe Biden has dropped out of the 2024 Presidential race, Carl DeMaio — Chairman of Reform California and a leading critic of Gavin Newsom for years — warns that Newsom is mobilizing behind the scenes once again to snatch the Democratic Presidential nomination.
DeMaio says Newsom is getting a lot of help from the powerful Democratic Party insiders and donors who just forced Biden out of the race.
“The biggest Democratic powerbrokers still don’t want Harris - they prefer their golden boy Gavin Newsom and anything could happen at the DNC Convention,” DeMaio says. But DeMaio thinks Newsom could end up being an even worse candidate than Joe Biden or Kamala Harris.
“If these out-of-touch Democratic powerbrokers were worried about Joe Biden losing and dragging down-ballot races with him, they should be even more worried if they manipulate the process to install Newsom as Biden’s replacement,” he continued.
“If Newsom is the nominee, we plan to put his numerous frauds and failures as governor of California on full display for the whole country to see,” DeMaio pledged.

“Under Newsom, crime and homelessness have skyrocketed, the cost-of-living is astronomical, and families are rapidly fleeing the state,” said DeMaio.
“It’s no wonder Gavin is the most unpopular governor in the country — let’s see him defend that record!” he concluded.
A June poll by the Public Policy Institute of California found Newsom holds a 54% disapproval rating in the state — the lowest in the country.
Polls also show Newsom trailing Trump in a hypothetical match-up. A CNN poll conducted post-debate found Trump leading Newsom 48% to 43%.
