This year many voters feel overwhelmed by the ballot they have received – with a bunch of confusing ballot measures and hundreds of candidates running for office.

Voters need to be aware of a number of tax hikes that are hidden on this year’s ballot! But there are several good ballot measures that deserve support – measures that will block costly tax hikes, block unfair utility rate hikes based on your income, including one to give tools back to police and prosecutors to arrest and punish dangerous criminals (Prop 36). Control of several important local boards hang in the balance – and we desperately need better leadership from our schools to Sacramento!

That’s why we’re presenting a series of “Ballot Breakdown” events in Orange County to make voting easier, fun and secure.

Ballot Breakdown — Irvine

Presented by Reform California Communications Director Dylan Martin and the California College Republicans:

  • Plain English Voter Guide: Every attendee will get a copy of our “Plain English Voter” guide that gives a simple description of each ballot measure and scores candidates running for every office based on their positions on opposing taxes, fighting crime, securing the border, improving schools, creating jobs, and more. You can access the county-wide guide here (TakeBackOrangeCounty.org)
  • Election Integrity: Dylan will share tips for how to vote securely and how to use an online database to verify your ballot is counted. Dylan will also discuss how you can monitor the balloting process as a volunteer.
  • Your Questions: We leave time for your questions on any item on the ballot or any topic of concern!

Please attend and help us boost turnout of common-sense voters by bringing a friend or family member with you to this event!
